8vo. (xi), 74pp. A Fine copy, one of 120 copies on Rives all cotton Lightweight paper (of a total edition of 155); bound in boards covered in terracotta handmade Roma paper; printed spine label. The Dante type was set by hand; the printing, in black and red, was done on an 1865 Albion Super Royal handpress.
An English translation of an important Gnostic manuscript discovered outside Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in 1945; translated from the Coptic by A. Guillaumont, H.-C. Puech, G. Quispel, W. Till and Yassah `Abd Al Masih. The first book published by the Petrarch Press; printed by Peter Bishop, founder of the press.
