1870-1930
Wonderful grouping of fourteen original photographs of women and men enjoying books (and ephemera) together, including two antique photographs on boards, seven antique cabinet cards, two carte de visites (CDVs), and three vintage photos without boards (two are real photo postcards). Most of the images are indoors, including one with a bookcase and an atlas standing in the corner, and one where the title of the book being read is actually visible (St. Elmo). Books are symbolic in old artwork and photography of education and refinement. Circa 1870-1930.
Size ranges 2 ½” x 4” to 7 1/4” to 9 ¼”. In varying condition as shown, with some edge and corner wear.
