Spring is one of a series of early chapbooks describing activities of each of the four seasons.

The 16 page book is written in prose and verse and features eight hand-colored woodcut illustrations.

The title vignette has caption: Infancy--The spring of life. Wood engravings appear in the text with following captions: Ploughing. Harrowing. Sowing seed. Birds and nest. Feeding chickens. Jumping the rope. Trundling the hoop

Advertising text on page 16 mentions the other books in the series - Autumn, Summer, and Winter.
