New York City, Toledo, Wabash & Western Railway Company

Map showing the "Line of the Toledo, Wabash & Western Railway Company and its connections." Prepared by G. W. & C. R. Colton & Co. 172 William St., New York.

The map shows much of the Midwest stretching from Conneaut, Ohio in the east to Mexico, Missouri in the west, and from Traverse City, Michigan in the North to Lexington, Kentucky in the South. The railway’s mainlines are highlighted in red, and its branches and connections in blue and yellow. Minor predation to the bottom two marginal corners does not affect the map itself.

The advertisement on the reverse is titled “Toledo, Wabash & Western R. R. Co.’s / 7 Per Cent. Bonds. / Principal and Interest Payable in Cold Coin. / Issued for the Purchase of Steel Rail.” New York: Winslow, Lanier & Co., 1873.

A scarce map-illustrated bond advertisement from the early years of what would become the famed Wabash Railroad.
