n.p. [Guangzhou], [Self-published], 1996, Soft cover
Fine
Scarce booklet showcasing dreamy landscape paintings of Yang Yanlai, a Guangzhou-based artist who was born in Hunan province in 1971.
The booklet contains 10 illustrations of her ink paintings as well as two photos of the artist. A larger single sheet featuring a painting as well as some biographical information fits loosely around the booklet.
Yang Yanlai was 25 when she self-published this piece. And since the text is in both Chinese and English, this was likely a way for her to introduce herself to a wider public.
The booklet and the accompanying sheet are scarce in commerce.
PHYSICAL DETAILS: 12mo (7.25 x 6.625 inches; 185 x 167 mm), 12 pages, in stapled white wrappers fitting loosely in a larger sheet (8.5 x 8.375 inches; 210 x 205 mm) showing a painting and biographical information (soft cover).
CONDITION: Fine.
