First edition. Designed and illustrated by John Alcorn. A companion title to their New York Times 1962 book of the year, BOOKS!, that similarly features bold illustrations and creative typography to inspire young readers (and writers!). Mild foxing to the top edge of boards/pages and "42" written on rear endpaper in child's hand, otherwise near fine in about very good dust jacket with slight tanning along edges and few small nicks and tears. Exceedingly scarce, especially in dust jacket.
