Item Details

no place, San Francisco Presbyterian Orphanage and Farm, 1940, Ring-bound wrappers

1st edition, Very Good

no place, San Francisco Presbyterian Orphanage and Farm, 1940, First Edition., 8.25" x 6.25", 105 pages, plus 7 paged with ads. Illustrated. Ring-bound in semi-stiff wrappers.

Presentation copy, being the first copy of the book, inscribed to the editor from the printer on the first page: "Copy number 1 - to Joel from Noel / October 3, 1940." The Grape Festival, held in Marin, began in 1899 to raise funds for "Sunny Hills," a Presbyterian orphanage in the hills of San Anselmo. At one time, the festival was Marin's premier charity event. Apparently, 1940 is the only year the festival issued a cookbook. Quite scarce.

Wear, soiling, and toning to wrappers; occasional staining to interior; very good.
