  --  Most samples printed with the original 15th -19 century typefaces from the collection of Johannes Enschede.. In English, revised and annotated. translated by H. Carter and N. Hoeflake, ed. L. Hellinga. Haarlem, Published with the Stichting Museum Enschedé, frontispiece., numerous. initials, vignettes etc., printed in 1550 numbered copies.. 

With the rare prospectus and a an additional type-specimen print laid in. Specimen issued by Jan van Hout, Leyden, between 1593 and 1597. Reproduced by the Enschede Museum from a photograph, as the unique copy of this specimen has been lost.

First published in French in 1908. Revised and substantially annotated 2nd edition published in a limited edition on the occasion of the 275th anniversary of the Company of Johannes Enschedé & Sons. "For the 1908 edition many historic types used in the composition of the illustrations were cast from the original matrices in our collection. The standing type from which these illustrations were originally printed was preserved and - with a few exceptions - has been used again for this revised edition....Enschedé's work has an enduring value as a catalogue and display of one of the world's richest collections of typographical treasures." (From the preface).

Orders usually ship within 2 business days [M-F]. We will provide tracking for all orders. Items shipped via UPS Ground or USPS Mail should arrive within 4-14 business days. We ship from Hawaii. Media Mail can take up to 14 - 20 days just to reach the West Coast by ship. Therefore we ship all smaller and regular sized items within the US by Priority Mail without additional cost to the customer. Oversized or heavy books might have to be shipped by Media Mail.
