The MOUNTAINEER by Conrad Speece, D.D. A New Edition and published by Isaac Collett in Staunton, Virginia in 1823. The essays are named for the periodical in which they originally appeared and dated between 1813 and 1816. Leather hardcover, 4" x 7", 204 pages, torn end sheet, heavy foxing throughout, looks like a bug borer at one time set up residence by gnawing a hole in the spine near the bottom and making himself at home. Aside from the bug hole, the cover is in surprisingly very good condition. See pics. Scarce Virginia title.
