Very Good
Here is an autographed letter from Douglas Southall Freeman the famous Editor of The News Leader in Richmond, Virginia. Freeman is writing Richard Dabney Thackston of Farmville to thank him for help in ascertaining Lee's whereabouts after evacuating the village of Farmville on the morning of April 7, 1865. After crossing the Appomattox River that morning, the A.N.V. had a brief rest with distribution of rations. Mr. Freeman writes he would make acknowledgement of Thackston's contribution which may be seen in Vol. 4 of R.E. Lee - A Biography on page 97, footnote 35. I've included a photo of this footnote with the pics.
