This is a 3-ring binder notebook that contains documents and photographs of Civil Air Patrol recruits and their activities based in Norfolk, Virginia. The notebook bears a soak and peel insignia decal on the front. These items were assembled by Commander Captain James A. Hales during 1961-1965 and document the organization's activities in flight, at parades, fairs and airports with all manner of aircraft pictured. The pictures are all loose and not glued. Though mostly lacking captions, last names are easily read on chest name badges. In the notebook back is a pocket that contains a developer's envelope with several snapshots of airplanes. Some pictures are marked as from Photographic Laboratory U.S. Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA or Official Air Force Photo Base Photographic Laboratory Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
