Postal Card from Artist Camille Pissarro to R. Pissarro of Brixton House, Jersey

Undivided Back French Carte Postale with circular date stamp of June 11, 1900. Lightly soiled with light abrasion to bottom edge. Good condition.

Camille Pissarro was an impressionist painter born on the island of Saint Thomas. He is best remembered for his work in 8 Paris impressionist exhibitions and as a mentor to many famed painters. In his 50's he began working in a neo-impressionist style.

The card reads (roughly) "July 10th. I am in Paris and perhaps for a little longer than I wanted because of my breast [health issue]. Tanière is coming tomorrow with your sister. Teissier leaves tomorrow evening and sends his best. Hugs/Kisses, CP"

Pissarro variously signed his name as either C. Pissarro or simply C.P. as with this specimen.
