Document measures 5 x 7 3/4 inches. Previous folds with very slight separation at corners of folds and edges. Several foxed areas. Verso is blank. Good Condition.

Receipt for the sale of seven-year-old slave girl in Rowan County, North Carolina for $200 dollars to be paid in land. 

Document reads "Know all men by these prisence that I Joseph Lawrence of the County of Rowan and state of North Carolina bargin and sell to Wiliam Andrew of the County of Cabarrus and state a fore said a negro girl about seven years old for and in the consideration of too hundred dollars in land paid the said Lawrence hath warrant the right and all other lawful claims here to for where unto I have sel my hand and seal this twenty third day of April 1817"
