Six Early Views of Denver from Frontier Photographer W.G. Chamberlain
Cards all have been enjoyed a little too much. All have rubbed corners, light to moderate soiling and fading. One with bent corner; one with light center crease. Three cards with pastedown labels on back. Five cards on green mounts; one on tan. Good Condition.
William G. Chamberlain was active in Denver from 1861-1889 where he built a successful series of studios. These cards date to 1864-1877 when his studio was located at 15th and Larimer. Chamberlain briefly worked with William Henry Jackson in the 1880's.
Several cards are from Chamberlain's "Mountain Scenery" series. Two images ae bird's eye views of a very rural Denver, likely in the 1860's. See scans.
Nice set of early Denver views.
