[Texas][Cattle Ranching] King Ranch Centennial Edition of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, 1953
Special edition of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times published in 1953 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the famous King Ranch.
Paper remains in its original mailing wrapper, addressed to a San Francisco customer. Exposed portions of the paper toned and moderately chipped. Not examined out of mailing wrapper. Good Condition. *Subsequent to this writing, the fragile mailing wrapper has split releasing the paper from its confines, but it remains rolled as received.
This 100th anniversary edition proved so popular that the paper later published a 143-page book replicating much of the content of this issue. Almost every page of this Centennial Issue contains articles on the King Ranch or ads commemorating the ranch, placed by local businesses. We've never handled this in its original mailing wrapper. Uncommon to rare item of Texas ephemera.
