A wonderful collection of 175 photographs from Alaska by famed photographer Frank H. Nowell. Many of the photographs are from Nome and range from snapshots to 8x10.  The photographs include photographs of the photographer himself and are often signed by Nowell.  The album seems to primarily be from 1906 and includes photographs of mining, town views, dog sledding, the Iditarod, ski clubs, Malamutes, Native peoples, ships, wildlife, railroads and much more. There are 38 larger 8x10 photographs and another 140 smaller format.
