First edition of two George Plimpton works. “Paper Lion” is inscribed on flyleaf by the author to his half-brother Dr. Calvin Hastings Plimpton and his wife: "For Calvin & Ruthie. Warm regard, George. 26 Sept '66". “Out of My League” inscribed simply “For Cal & Ruthie. George.” Tucked inside back cover of “Paper Lion” are two illustrated magazine articles about Plimpton: “Paper Plimpton, A true change of life”; by Clark Whelton, published Jan. 1976 in Esquire; and “George Plimpton takes to the air,” by writer John Roberts, about Plimpton joining the trapeze act The Flying Apollos and the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. Circus @ 1970 -- for a TV special. Both books are in good condition – “Lion” is well-loved/read/worn condition, “My League” in near fine condition. They are from Calvin Plimpton’s personal collection, which was kept in his seaside mansion on Cape Cod. Remarkable association copies.
