Claremont, CA, W.H. Holabird
Very Good
7.5" x 5.5 advertising flyer for a nine-room cottage with 2.5 acres of "choice orchard land" located in Claremont, California. The land is offered by W.H. Holabird of Claremont and priced at $5,000. The flyer includes a photo and description of the house, as well as the land and the community, which is, among other things, "the seat of Pomonoa College, a thriving young institution under the patronage of the Congregational Church." Annual revenue from the orchard, which includes "upwards of 100 bearing orange trees, lemons, limes, figs, plums, loquats, peaches, apricots, pears, persimmons, and walnuts" is estimated at $500-$1,000. Undated, but with penciled date of 1893 at bottom margin and "sold Jan 15. 94 to C.F. Foote" at top. Holabird also offers a full five-acre block in Claremont planted with 30,000 citrus trees for $6,500.
Condition is very good, with minor creasing and paper residue on the verso from being mounted at the top edge.
