5" x 7",  36 pp., with two folding panoramic plates (credited to O.A. Tunnell) and numerous other illustrations from photographs, in original stapled wrappers. Near fine, with minor handling wear. Includes full rosters and many illustrations showing the enlisted men, officers, and activities (drills, machine gun practice, camp scenes, etc.) of the Third Oregon Infantry. This National Guard unit was deployed on the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas from June to September 1916 as part of a larger mobilization ordered by President Woodrow Wilson in response to raids into U.S. territory by Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa.
