San Francisco, 37th Infantry Division [United States Army], 1945, Softcover
Very Good
Ten-page mimeographed typescript printed on both sides of five 13" x 8" sheets. Paper tanned, archival reinforcement to short splits at each side of a single horizontal fold (no loss), all else very good. A scarce, restricted report describing what was learned from the interrogation of high-ranking Japanese officers by members of the 37th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in the immediate aftermath of the Luzon Campaign. It offers interesting details of the Japanese perspective on how the campaign unfolded, concluding that while the Japanese "attribute American victory largely to overwhelming material strength and fire power, they ascribe it in even greater measure to the constant application of a very ancient principles of warfare -- both, relentless attach and swift and aggressive movement."
