One original silver gelatin photograph, sized 7 x 5 in., w/ embossed in blind raised borders, manuscript inscription on verso (closed tear at left fore-edge), still a VG crisp image.

This original photograph captures “Joe” working in a factory/garage for Chandler Motors Co. just as they were developing their Cleveland touring car, roadster, coupe, and sedan after World War I. The Cleveland automobiles were smaller and less pricey versions of the Chandler Automobiles, and Frederick Chandler and Samuel Regar managed both companies until the Cleveland finished its production run in 1926. Although all the emblems and license plates are largely hidden by those standing in the image, one of them does appear to be a Chandler Touring Car hidden in the corner behind the post.
