Songs of Yosemite by Harold Symmes. Published by Ansel F. Hall, 1923. Scarce portfolio of images and texts about Yosemite. Unbound in publisher's gray printed paper portfolio with color pictorial cover glued on. This work consists of nine larger leaves with text by Symmes, each folding to form 4 pages (seven of which feature tipped-in color plates by Gunnar Widforss), with an additional 5 single leaves with text by Symmes. The work is complete with 8 color plates by Widforss (including cover) and 14 texts by Symmes, and 2 pages of text by publisher Ansel F. Hall (inside each cover). "Songs of Yosemite" by Harold Symmes, was first published in 1911 and reprinted by Ansel F. Hall. It is a collection of poetry dedicated to the park's landscapes. The book is famous for being illustrated with watercolor paintings by the renowned Swedish artist Gunnar Widforss. The color image on the cover has a chip down the right side and some light creasing.
