Hardcover. Maroon cloth. 12" by 9 3/4". E. Holt / training college handwritten on front paste down. Around 30 leaves of thick cardstock, with 34 mounted textile samples demonstrating needlework techniques, including darning, hemming, buttonholes, patching, various sewing stitches and small items of clothing. All samples annotated in manuscript in ink. 

Likely created by a student at a training college or domestic science institution in the UK around 1900. Such albums were used as both examination portfolios and instructional tools, demonstrating proficiency in practical and decorative stitching, essential in seeking employment in service or for training future educators in domestic arts.
