Under General Manager Swartley, the station was the first in Boston to go on the air - in 1948. “Swan Boat” promised to have specifically New England content, and would be led by Nelson Bragg (who promoted it in a Swan Boat, see photo - not included with the letter) - with singer Cindy Lord from Medford and her partner Lindy Doherty, a pop singing couple; piano player Mike DiNapoli who had begun his career as a child; humorist Dick Kilbride from Gloucester, who would achieve fame with the 1956 children’s show “Boomtown,” along with Jack Chase, already a known radio newsman. The form letter asks for feedback from recipients.
