Wrappers. Red card-stock wrappers with black lettering. black guard sheets front and back, 46 pp. Very good condition, cover slightly spotted, one page wrinkled in lower corner. Poems about street life, racial injustice, Martin Luther King, war, and New York City. Importantly, one poem is entitled "Barbados," giving a clue to the author's family origins. No copies located in WorldCat, not found in a separate search of NYPL (Schomburg). Copyright was asserted in 1971 (Library of Congress Copyright Office, 1973), otherwise no record of this publication could be found. 1940 census records show that the author was born in 1929 in New York City and lived in that year on 147th St., and indicate that his full name was Charles Hamilton Parris.
