VG
[MUSIC] [SHEET MUSIC] [CHROMOLITHOGRAPHY] [ENGLISH] Various composers. Volume bound in half-leather over dark purple cloth with the cover title WALTZES containing twelve (12) pieces of sheet music, ten of which have chromolithographic illustrated covers, all published in London, mid to late 19th century. Inside front cover bears an ink stamp near the top edge indicating that the binding was done by Proudfoot, Binder 73 George St Euston SQ6 (?).
The volume measures approximately 13.5 x 10 inches; as is often the case with bound sheet music, the pieces have been trimmed to that size, sometimes affecting the printing (but not the image) on the sheet music covers. Leather spine is rubbed; oval discoloration mark on pages facing some of the images that have an oval border as part of the design; Two pages have a reinforced outside border. Interior is relatively clean and tight. Overall, the volume is in VG condition. [26-442]
The titles of the twelve pieces of waltz sheet music are 1) Hilda (composed by Dan. Godfrey); Kate Kearney (composed by Charles Coote); Il Bacio (arranged by Carlo Zotti); Mabel (composed by Dan’l Godfrey); The Guards Waltz (by D. Godfrey); Dawn of Love (composed by C. Godfrey); The Duchess (by Archibald Ramsden); Faust Waltz (by Charles Coote); La Mariee (by Charles Capel Chapman); Valse de L’Africaine (arranged by D. Godfrey); La Murska Valse (composed & arranged by CC, Godfrey); and The May Waltz (composed by Alfred Mellon).
