In addition to description of the books printed by the Spaniards there is a section of pre-colonial Mexican manuscripts. We often forget that printed started in North America in Mexico and there were even female printers, the widows or daughters of Printers, at that time.
A very attractive publication extolling Mexico’s history, architecture, painters and scenic beauty, really an invitation to the tourist to enjoy all that Mexico has to offer, and underlining the fact that Mexico City is the oldest city in North America. The journal only published seven issues and an unnumbered introductory volume. In December 1939, D.A,P,P. was replaced by the General Directorate of Information (D.G.I.), which became a subsection of the Ministry of the Interior.
