Richmond, Shepherd and Colin, 1847, tied with string
very good
This speech delivered at the College of William and Mary celebrated the 71st anniversary of Virginia's declaration of independence from England. A convention was assembled in Williamsburg, Va on the 6th of May in 1776 and Edmund Pendleton was elected president. "But it was on the 15th of May 1776, that by a resolution unanimously adopted, the first decisive, great, irrevocable step was taken, which placed Virginia beyond the Rubicon, and pledged her to the maintenance of her independence then asserted, whether sustained or abandoned by the rest of the colonies, and in defiance of a power before which all Europe trembled." On the title page is inscribed "From Charles Ellis to John F. Cocke 1906". OCLC only records 8 holders.
