The Paragraph Bible: The Holy Bible, Containing the Old and New Testaments… Arranged in Paragraphs and Parallels. London: Printed by G. E. Eyre and W. Spottiswoode for the Religious Tract Society, 1856. Thick octavo, 948, 223 pp. Finely bound in contemporary full leather with elaborate gilt tooling to spine and boards, raised bands, and all edges gilt. Yellow endpapers. Some rubbing to joints and spine ends, scattered foxing to prelims, otherwise a clean and attractive copy. A handsome example of mid-Victorian Bible publishing, notable for its effort to present scripture in a more readable narrative form.
