Goodspeed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Father Docher was a French Franciscan Roman Catholic priest, who arrived in the 1890's to do missionary work. After time in Taos and Santa Fe, he established home within the Tiwa Indian community in the Isleta pueblo just south of Albuquerque. He became good friends with Charles Fletcher Lummis and Governer Pablo Albeita, and many notables visited through the years, such as George Wharton James and Willa Cather - who modeled her protagonist in Death Comes for the Archbishop on Docher. Lightly toned/discolored cloth otherwise a bright copy. Good. Cloth. (30674)
