Very Good

Hawai daikushu [Japan]. Showa 17 [ 1942].

5 black and white photographic illustration post cards with commemorative stamps and postmarks, 9 x 14 cm each, in original color pictorial envelope (18.5 x 10cm). Very good. A collection of five postcards depicting the Pearl Harbor attack with four black and white photographic illustrations of the bombing from the air and a fifth showing a scene aboard ship being waved off as it takes off. The envelope, with its striking colorful front cover, features an illustration of a Japanese plane dropping bombs on Hawaii. These postcards were likely published to commemorate the first anniversary of the successful attack. Each postcard bears commemorative stamps with postmarks dated December 8, 1942.
